Am I too late to start playing Chikn?

Accepted Answer

No, you can start any time. Chikn launched in November 2021 and new players join every month. You can purchase just one Chikn, one Roostr or one FarmLand, or a combination of the three. The development team regularly release new game features that are suitable for new and experienced players. Whenever you decide to start, you are still early in the process.

Where can I buy a Chikn, Roostr or FarmLand?

The majority of sales take place in the Market w(https://chikn.farm/market/?tab=chikn)ithin the main Chikn website. However, because Chikns, Roostrs and FarmLands are NFTs (non-Fungible Tokens), they can also be bought and sold on other NFT Marketplaces. NFTrade and JoePegs are two examples of these 3rd party marketplaces.

All three items are priced in Avax because this game exists on the Avalance blockchain. Avax is the native coin of the Avalanche blockchain (just like Ether is the native coin on the Ethereum blockchain). Can I have more than 1 Chikn, Roostr or FarmLand?

Yes, you can have as many Chikns, Roostrs or FarmLands as you want. However, you do not need all 3 to enjoy playing the game and earn rewards. Many people just start with 1 item.

What do I do with my Chikn after I have bought it?

As soon as you complete the purchase of a Chikn, it will appear in your wallet on the Chikn website. In order to start laying $EGG, you need to make sure your Chikn is roosted. To roost your Chikn simply tap the Roost button within the Chikn -> Roost screen. Most Chikns are already roosted and therefore you will not need to re-Roost after purchasing it.

What do I do with my Roostr after I have bought it?

As soon as you complete the purchase of a Roostr, it will appear in your wallet. In order to start laying $FERT, you need to make sure your Roostr is roosted and has been fed at least 1 $EGG in the last 24 hours. To roost your Roostr simply tap the Roost button within the Roostr-> Roost screen. Most Roostrs are already roosted and therefore you will not need to re-Roost after purchasing it.

What do I do with my FarmLand after I have bought it?

As soon as you complete the purchase of a FarmLand, it will appear in your wallet. You now have two options regarding FarmLand upgrades. You can expand your FarmLand by using $EGG, this will increase its Bigness. You can Fertilize your FarmLand by applying some $FERT, this will increase its Fertility multiplier. You can also start farming by depositing LP (Liquidity Pool) tokens in order to receive rewards. Before you start LP farming you need to activate you FarmLand from with the FarmLand -> LP Farm screen. Only one FarmLand can be activated at once.

How do I claim my $EGGs

While your Chikn(s) are roosted, they will continually lay $EGGs. You can claim your $EGG at any time, and even multiple times a day if you wish. Simply tap the Claim button near the top of the Chikn -> Roost screen. By doing so the $Eggs will be collected from your roost and added to your wallet.

How do I claim my $FERT?

While your Roostr(s) are roosted, they will continually lay $FERT providing they have been fed at least 1 $EGG in the last 24 hours. You can claim your $FERT at any time, and even multiple times a day if you wish. Simply tap the Claim button near the top of the Roostr -> Roost screen. By doing so the $FERT will be collected from your roost and added to your wallet. When you level up your Rooster to the next KG, the $FERT will automatically be claimed into your wallet.

Do I have to feed my Chikn?

Accepted Answer

No, you do not have to feed your Chikn, it will produce $EGG even if you never feed it. However, you might choose to feed your Chikn in order for it to grow and lay more $EGG. For every 1kg increase in size your Chikn will lay an extra 0.25 $EGG per day. Remember that $FEED will eventually run out at some point after November 2022 meaning Chikns will no longer be able to grow bigger.

Do I have to feed my Roostr?

No, you do not have to feed your Roostr. However, it will only lay $FERT if it has been fed at least 1 $EGG in the last 24 hours. You might also choose to feed your Roostr for it to be levelled up by 1 additional KG and lay more $FERT. For every 1KG increase in size, your Roostr will lay an extra 2 $FERT per day.

How regularly can I level up my Chikn?

Each time you level up your Chikn by 1kg, it will require a cool down period. You can think of this cool down as the time required to digest the $FEED it has consumed. The duration of the cool down period is the same number of hours as the size of the Chikn, e.g. Levelling up a Chikn from 19kg to 20kg will require a 20 hour cool down period before it can be levelled up to 21kg.

2 - Rarity level and traits. The 8 traits and overall rarity also determine it's value. The rarer it is the higher the value. Usually, rarer traits will provide a boost when using your Chikn for foraging.

3 - Perceived coolness. Some Chikns just look a little bit better than others and can command a premium price. But remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and there is no wrong choice when buying a Chikn.

What makes some FarmLands more valuable than others?

There are 3 components to the value of a FarmLand:

1 - Bigness. All FarmLands start off with a Bigness of 1 and can be expanded up to 120. Each level up requires an amount of $EGG equivalent to the next Bigness level. Therefore to reach 120 Bigness a FarmLand will require a total of 7140 $EGG.

2 - Fertility Multiplier. Each FarmLand has a starting fertility of 4x, this can be increased in increments of 0.25 up to 16x. Each increase requires $FERT to be burned. As always in the Chiknverse, the higher the fertility multiplier already is, the more $FERT will be required to reach the next level.

3 - Rarity of Tiles. As you expand your FarmLand new tiles will be revealed. Some are rarer than others. The rarer your range of tiles are the more desirable your FarmLand will be.

How do I claim my FarmLand rewards?

If you have deposited some LP (Liquidity Pool) tokens into your FarmLand, you will be generating rewards. You can claim these rewards whenever you want and as often as you want. Simply tap the 'Harvest' button from within the FarmLand -> LP Farm screen, this will cause the rewards to be claimed and transferred into your wallet.
